Have your say on the design of our new playground

The City of Victor Harbor is upgrading George T Fisher Playground and is asking for the community to share ideas to reinvigorate this space.

George T Fisher Playground is located on the foreshore adjacent Flinders Parade and is considered to be Victor Harbor’s premier playground. It is well known for the heritage steam engine that is proudly located next to the playground.

The playground was last upgraded in 2002 and is due for replacement. To progress the upgrade, the City of Victor Harbor have engaged the designers of the hugely popular Morialta Nature Playground to develop a concept design.

“We are thrilled to be working with Climbing Tree in conjunction with Peter Semple Landscape Architects to design a new nature playground on Victor Harbor’s foreshore,” said City of Victor Harbor Mayor Graham Philp.

“To assist in developing the design for the new nature playground, we want to find out more about the community’s vision for the prominent play space.”

“We want to know what kind of things the community would like to see in the new playground. What have you seen that works really well? What would you not like to see in the new playground?”

“We are really excited about the upgrade of the George T Fisher Playground, and are looking forward to hearing suggestions from our community.”

Community members are invited to find out more and share their thoughts online at www.yoursay.victor.sa.gov.au or collect a hard copy feedback form from the council office at 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.

Council representatives and the playground designers will also be on-site to talk with community members at George T Fisher Playground on Sunday, 27 May 2018 between 11am and 1pm.

The suggestions and comments provided throughout the consultation period will inform the design of the new playground.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to be involved in this project. Have your say on the design of the new playground before 5pm on Friday, 1 June 2018.
