Your Library, Your Say

We want to hear what you think of our library services

Don’t miss your chance to tell Council what you think of its library services.

We want to know more about what you most value about our library, the services you use, suggestions about things that can be done better, and ideas for new initiatives and services.

Over the years community libraries have become so much more than a place to borrow books and magazines. They have become important community hubs, particularly in regional areas like Victor Harbor.

This review is an opportunity for Council to look at its library services so we can respond to the needs of our community and provide value for money to our ratepayers.

Even if you don’t use the library, we would love to hear from you to find out why.

Find out more about how you can share your feedback online at or drop in to the library at 1 Bay Road, Victor Harbor.

Have your say before 5pm on 1 February 2019.

Tour Down Under to come through Victor

Tour Down Under comes through Victor Harbor

The Santos Tour Down Under will roll through the City of Victor Harbor on Saturday, 19 January.

While the Council was unsuccessful in securing a race finish, it is great to see the race route pass through our council area, showcasing our beautiful coast and landscapes to the world.

If you want to catch a glimpse of the riders they will head in to Victor via Inman Valley Road, turning on to Armstrong Road (Ring Route) then on to Adelaide Road where they will head to the roundabout near the new Bunnings and turn on to Port Elliot Road on their way to Strathalbyn.

If you live or work along the race route, don’t forget you can deck your place out in bright, colourful decorations to showcase our city. Your efforts may receive international recognition on the tour broadcast.

Sharing the Encounter Bikeway

Experience the Encounter Bikeway

The Encounter Bikeway winds along the spectacular coastline between Victor Harbor and Goolwa.

Catering for all ages and levels of fitness, the Encounter Bikeway is a great way to take in breathtaking coastal views and experience charming coastal towns.

The bikeway is popular with locals and visitors. It is used by cyclists, walkers, skaters, rollerbladers and wheelchairs.

Over summer there is an increased number of people enjoying the bikeway. This means users need to take extra care to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.

The City of Victor Harbor reminds users to keep to the left and be aware of safety in respect to other users of the bikeway. Cyclists should use their bell when approaching others from behind.
