Victor Harbor has many natural attractions including Granite Island, Rosetta Head (The Bluff) and our coastal beaches providing a lifestyle which is highly valued by both residents and visitors.

In addition to these natural attractions Council is also responsible for over 100 reserves within the Council area.


Please find below details on some of our popular reserves.

Victor Harbor Central Popular Reserves

Warland Reserve:

Whale Tail 6 Warland Reserve 1

Warland Reserve features the Whale Tail Fountain and is centrally located between the Causeway to Granite Island and the Ocean Street shopping precinct. This extremely popular reserve is a favourite with both locals and visitors alike and is the site of numerous community events.

Playground, BBQ, Drinking Fountain and toilet facilities with disabled facilities are located at the adjacent G T Fisher Playground and Causeway Plaza.

Grosvenor Gardens:

Located centrally between Torrens Street, Coral Street & Stuart Street, Grosvenor Gardens connects the 2 main shopping precincts. The site of the town's rotunda, this park is the home of the weekly Saturday morning Farmer's Market and various community events.


G T Fisher Playground & Causeway Plaza:

Located centrally at the foreshore along the Esplanade, this is the site of Victor Harbor's major playground facilities. BBQ, weather shelters, toilet facilities including disabled facilities and a drinking fountain are provided.


Causeway Plaza Causeway Plaza 2

The newly upgraded Causeway Plaza area is located at the entrance to the Granite Island Causeway, connecting the causeway to the mainland and is the home of the seasonal amusement attractions & food vans. A drinking fountain is located in front of the Visitor Information Centre.



Soldiers Memorial Garden:


The Soldiers Memorial Garden with it's rows of iconic Memorial Norfolk Island Pines runs along the foreshore at Flinders Parade. This site is a popular meeting and picnic area adjoining the main playground and amusement sites. 

The cross of rememberance is located at these gardens and the popular walking and bike path runs along the foreshore.

Soldiers Memorial Reserve:

Located centrally at the foreshore along The Esplanade this reserve is the home of the local Country Market.
Drinking fountain, BBQ, playground and toilet facilities including disabled facilities are available.

Please Note: Disruption to toilet facilities will occur between February and March 2017 due to reconstruction.

Youth Skate Park & Playground:

Teenranger Skate Park

Located along the foreshore at Flinders Parade, the Youth Skate Park & Playground activities are a popular meeting place and draw card for young people. The site is in close proximity to Victor Harbor's other main recreation areas.


Bridge Point Reserve

Bridge Point Reserve is located at the Hindmarsh River mouth at the northern end of Bridge Terrace, and offers coastal views with access to the Hindmarsh River walking trail. 

Facilities include picnic tables, toilets, change rooms (uncovered), and beach shower.

Barker Reserve:

Opposite the Civic Centre and adjacent to Bay Road and the Inman River Bridge, this reserve has free electric BBq'S, plus toilet and picnic facilities.


Kent Reserve:

Kent Reserve is located on the foreshore between the Inman River and Kent Drive and a popular picnic area. 
Kent Reserve has an adult gym in addition to BBQ, playground and toilet facilities including disabled facilities.

Encounter Bay Popular Reserves

Cliff Thorpe Reserve:

Located at the corner of Bartel Boulevard and Matthew Flinders Drive, this is a popular park providing a lake beach for water enthusiast at Encounter Lakes. Toilets are provided including disabled facilities, and one open public shower.

John Crompton Jnr. Reserve:

Located at the corner of Tabernacle Road and Nicolas-Baudin Drive this reserve has direct access to popular Encounter Lakes. This reserve provides a children's playground area, toilet amenities, plus shaded picnic area.

Encounter Wetlands:

Located at Matthew Flinders Drive this reserfe has shelters and a walking path to enjoy this natural haven.  Encounter Wetlands is an attractive parkland area that utilises the natural wetlands of Encounter Bay.

Hayborough Popular Reserves

Kleinigs Hill Lookout:

At the entrance to Victor Harbor this reserve is a lookout bay located at the top of the hill along Hindmarsh Road and offers panoramic views across Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay and Granite Island. The view can be further enjoyed using the telescope at the site.

Kleinigs Hill Lookout also features Kondoli - our local Symbol of Reconciliation, a mosaic tile whale feature.
Kondoli the whale has always been important for the Ramindjeri/Ngarrindjeri people of Victor Harbor.  Toilets are provided including disabled facilities.


Starfish Park: Hayborough

Located at Aquamarine Drive, Hayborough this park has extensive playground equipment including a flying fox.
BBQ, Drinking Fountain, Picnic Shelter, and toilet facilities including disabled facilities are provided.

Hayborough Popular Reserves

Nangawooka Flora Reserve:


Nangawooka is a small 2ha reserve, home to over 1,200 varieties of Australian native plants. It is also a haven for birds and has a bird watch. It is located on the Adelaide/Victor Harbor Road, opposite Urimbirra. Picnic and gazebo area and toilet are available.
